Hubballi-Dharwad Police Bust Ganja Rackets: Eight Arrested in String of Raids

Hubballi-Dharwad police have seized over one kilogram of ganja and arrested eight individuals in four separate incidents. The twin cities’ police, cracking down on drug peddlers, have been conducting raids, seizing contraband, and apprehending offenders. Recently, they confiscated a modern drug called MDMA (Ecstasy).

On Saturday, the CCB team, led by ACP ST Odeyar and Inspector Prabhu Gangenahalli, arrested three individuals attempting to sell ganja near the new bus stand. They seized 232 grams of ganja valued at Rs 2,320. The arrested individuals have been identified as Sameer Mohammed Karnachi, 19, Shanawaz Imtiyaz Khan, 22, both residents of Dandeli, and a minor.

On the same day, the Vidyanar police team, under Inspector DK Patil, apprehended an accused selling ganja near Rambhapuri Kalyan Mantap in Vidyanagar. The police confiscated 180 grams of weed worth Rs 9,000. A case has been filed against accused Siddarth Ramesh Athani, 25, a resident of Mahaveer Galli in Hubballi.

The Bendigeri police, led by Inspector CB Chikkodi and his team, seized 160 grams of ganja valued at Rs 4,800 and arrested Mallikjan Mehaboobsab Bijapur, 22, a resident of Yallapur Oni in Hubballi.

The Dharwad Sub Urban police team, led by Inspector Prabhu Gangenahalli, apprehended three accused selling weed near the Pepsi company in the city. They seized 447 grams of weed worth Rs 45,000. The accused are: Abhishekh Ravi Ullal, 23, a resident of Ram Nagar, Dharwad, Umesh Prashuram Kolhar, 37, and Abhishekh Shivayogi Hiremath, 28, both residents of Nehru Nagar, Dharwad.
